- Collected: Site C, Leipers Shale in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, from Upper Ordovician deposits.
- Estimated Age: about 450 million years old
- Dimensions: scale bar is .5 mm
- Comments: asymmetric element. Short bar has two interestingly different denticles. The worn medial denticle has an unusual beveled edge, and the adjacent lateral denticle is unusually sharp, suggesting no wear. Does this suggest that wear was unevenly distributed over an otherwise efficient jaw mechanism? Perhaps the occluding element was missing a denticle.
